A buddy and I were thinking of heading to Alma in the morning and I was wondering if the river would be managable with a smaller boat? I’m trying to think on the safe side here and don’t want to get in over my head. The float is also an option so if anyone has any input on either of them it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I am not sure of the condition but i fish there a lot. It never gets real terbulant. you can fish the seam between the lock and the rollers the water back flows there and usually not a lot of current or else a great spot is in the area right below the lock doors where the river flows past the wall. Lots of slack water there as well.

Good luck if you go be sure to post and let us know your results.

Well the plans fell through but there is still time in the next few weeks if the water doesn’t get to high. I’ll be sure to post if I make it out and thanks for posting the conditions.

I spoke with Jeremy this afternoon regarding the Alma bite. He reports the bite is ok, not phenomenal, but fish are being caught and very low angler numbers the past few days.
