Is hidden falls open yet? What about lilydale? I know I saw some pictures from the other week maybe, is it still open? The 4wd on my truck is pretty iffy right now too, if these ramps are open, would it be safe to go there assuming I’m only going to have 2wd? I don’t have a huge boat but I don’t want to get f’d out there either.. Wanted to fish around the ford dam instead of making the trip out to everts for more heartbreak.
Lilydale was launchable sunday evening. Black Alumacraft was out there.
Even if Hidden Falls is open, there is still a lot of ice in the mississippi. You might be able to go north from there, but you can’t go far south. I’m not sure about conditions there.
Lilydale is open, but 4WD would be a good idea because of the ice on the ramp. I needed it on my F-150 pulling my 17′ boat out. Probably getting better by the day, though.
Update: Lots of ice coming out of the Mississippi, and stretch between the Ford dam and the confluence may be open now or will be soon. Lots of ice still locked up along the shore, though. Still not sure what kind of shape the Hidden Falls ramp is in.
hidden falls is still frozen in but lilydale should be launchable but it might be a slipppery ramp. There is ice upstream of pike island so limited fishing there. My motor crapped out during fyb last weekend so I’m out for a few weeks at least. Blew a piston and scarred the cylinder so not sure what I’m gonna do. Thinkin about upgrading my carb and rebuilding my 25 johnson into a 35. Been reading about it online and I’d be a fool not to do it while I have the whole motor apart. 
My take is I should bring a bunch off salt along anyways if you plan on using a public launch in freezing weather.
Jason. Did you see the post this morning on Gander blowing out new motors. %40 off. Might be a solution.
Sounds like a great deal but I’m buyin a house next week and dont think the wife will have it
looks like all the ice is cleared up in the main channel pretty much everywhere. My friend found me a motor that is exactly the same as mine for $100 $150. If it runs, great. If not, I can take the cylinders out of it and save a bunch of money. Maybe I wil be able to fish this weekend. 
Thanks to whoever worked on Lyon’s, it works good now! Open to the channel….
