Pool 5A ramps

I took a drive to see if either of the Fountain City ramps were open and to my surprise, I found them both open. Here is a picture of the FC municipal landing at the south end of town. Obviously someone went down and cut the ice out – THANKS

The parking lot is full of snow from the city crews so it will be a while before there is much parking. The north lot by Kwik Trip has a height restriction getting under the railroad trussel so be careful there. Parking here too is very limited.

little bit of ice at bass camp yet but a bunch of early birds must have pushed their boats over it to the open water….There were a few trailers and boats fishing the dam…

I’ve heard the same about Bass Camp – pushing across the ice to get to the open water. I also heard that the BC folks had cleaned up the high water landing (below the fuel dock) getting ready for the bay ice to go. I have not been able to get there or out on 5A myself yet this year. I’m a little later than normal but I have been able to fish pool 4 and 6 a little.

Saw some guys at 5a two weeks ago that came down from Alma – said it was too crowded for them up there.

On a nice spring day all river dam areas will get crowded, just remember, you don’t have to fish where everyone else does.
