Talking with my Dad last night. Sounds like the Grand Rapids area had a lot of melting this weekend and it will continue throughout the week. So it sounds like there should be an increase in runoff into the river systems this week.

Water is already dirtier than winters of the past-just need a warm-up to get things snapping. Cold, dirty water is a real bummer.

    More fishing.

As the water dirties the day time bite is better. As ol Doc says, warmer water will bring the hoards of sauger/eyes up the river and onto your hook.

Sorry for being a little vague.

Surely you jest. The Minnesota is the biggest contributor to the silting of Lake Pepin.

….and yes, I called you Shirley.

how does silt from the Minnesota river make it all the way down to pepin?

Suspended in the water. Once it gets to Pepin the water slows down and “falls out” of the water.

    Here’s a good, short read.

Thats why those big cats have large mouths. They move it to make new structure.
