I go for eyes on the St. Croix and Miss. Bass on local western Wi lakes. Of course there are the big Canadian Eyes coming up in June.

I’m looking for the kind that swim – and hopefully bite. Catfish mostly on the Wapsi or at Coralville. Occasional trip up to Manchester or Strawberry to see if the smallies are crashing baits on the Maquoketa. Crappies & gills anywhere, anytime, and of course a trip or two to the big river each summer to see if I can catch something other than the bottom.

FYI, I was below the tube at Coralville Saturday and again for about an hour yesterday, but didn’t see anyone catching fish yet.

I am heading down to the fishermans swap meet saturday.I thought I would put in below saylorville and give it a try. Recently moved to NE Iowa and enjoy fishing the smallmouth and walleye on the cedar and miss. Hit the crappies in the spring and trout fish all year long.
