Walleye Season.

    Please excuse my lack of knowledge…
    I thought the walleye season (for MN) ended on Feb 15th?
    Is there some special exception for the river?

    Major exceptions… gamefish seasons never close on some portions of the Mississippi River due to their status as “border waters.”

    You can brush up on Border Water regs starting on page 46 of the 2004 Minnesota Fishing Regulations. There are different seasons and limits for all border waters. North and South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Canada.
