    I am from DSM too, but currently located north of LaCrosse in Trempealeau WI. What part of DSM? Southside here.

    What lakes/rivers do you fish?

    Well really I’m from Ankeny but no one knows where that is. I try to fish anywhere I can get a line wet . Ha Ha Des Moines river, Salorvile, Big Creek,Clear Lake, 3 Mile hopefully this year,Canada for 20 some years Red Lake, Packwash… Lake Pipin,and this year Red Wing in March.I’m Retired so almost anything goes. Got boat will travel. No wife no money long on time. Well part of it is true. LOL

    nice to see some more iowa boys on this site….hello guys…ames here….i fish the desmoines by boone on the upper and lower dams….hickory grove….saylorville spillway, where i caught a nice walleye…pry. 6 pounds or so last year….im gonna try to post a pic of it on here pretty soon…also fish big creek and some random farm ponds…..nothing compares to pool 4 though…

    I’ve been to Ankeny several times. Do some business with Casey’s. Doesn’t look to fishy in that part of Iowa.

    From Washington in SE Iowa. There’s about 8 of us that spend alot of time on the Mississippi in this area. Pools 16,17, and 18 for the most part.

    Well to say the least it is not all that good around Ankeny but it is close and you have to work for all you get. Some days you have to work real hard for one or two if you are lucky. That is why we have to travel elsewhere. That is why we need all the info we can get. Friend got a 9.5 lber the other day out of Des Moines River. Going to lake Monday open water already. Unbeleavable for this time of year on Big Creek.Jim
