I wish I had something good to say about the bite other than it is slow. I saw Jon J and Boone out today and all reports seemed to be the same. A fish or two is the norm. I did catch a flathead while working a sauger spot about mid afternoon.
The water had muddied up a bit from the last trip. The flow will remain slow till we get a bit more runoff. I wish I knew where the fish are hanging out.

Yep, tuff bite for my boat too. We managed 4 fish for the trip. Nothing big, 2- walleye, 2- sauger.
I’ll admit to fishing a couple of those “Out of the Wind” spots a little longer than I should have, but soaking up that sun sure felt good.

I made it out today for another attempt at finding some fish. I was hoping that the overcast would make a difference. Maybe it needs to rain and snow to turn the fish on??? 
I did catch a real nice sauger that taped close to 21″. It came in the main channel by the airport. This attempt at a “solo” picture did not turn out very good but I will post it anyway.
The next few days look to be sunny and warmer than it was today. Even if the fish do not bite well at least a guy will be able to fish without gloves.

Beautiful sauger Dean. Has anyone fished the dam or confluence area? It is getting close to the time of year when some real hogs hang out up there.
What is the “Confluence” area???
Where the MN river meets the Miss. The river roughly doubles in size from the area below the Ford dam and the areas of 20+’ of water start. Before the confluence 99% of the river is under 14′ during normal water levels.
