So how’s the water flowing and what’s in it? Time for an overnight fix, curious how the conditions are. Thanks. CZ

It looks like it’s up about half a foot. I had a second hand report that it was a little muddy looking on Saturday. Now that it’s not 99 degrees with 80 degree dewpoints I’ll be back down there soon

I was out saturday and the flow and stage really are not too bad, very manageable. Not too much debris in the water either.

The being said. The water is real dirty and clairty was quite poor where I was fishing.

Thanks guys! Keep me posted please? I looked yesterday from shore, but I’ve learned it is much different on shore than it is on the water.

Caught fish… just not the right size fish

I spent 90% of my time fishing areas i’d never fished before so I didn’t expect too much. Fun to do some exploring though

I’m trying to talk the Drew into going tonight; but he has no interest. Maybe my wife will get home early enough from work for me to take off solo…… Guess I’ll be watching the Twins.

Water level about normal. Up a little for August but not high. Clarity at 5 inches. Temp at 75.5 Flow – main channel fast but not terrible. Not too much wood.

Got a couple fish. (small eyes) Nothing picture worthy. Should get better every day now.

I picked up about 10 eyes from 15 to 20 inches trolling this afternoon. The fish seemed to want those cranks fast and around 10+ fow.

Here’s a pic of our best fish last night. Went back to the trusty B-Fish-N-Tackle draggin jig, those gems sure shine this time of year. Not a hot bite for us but a fish here and there.

Clarity was better but still a fair amount of weeds/grass coming down to foul your lines.

Yep. I got them sitting in the garage. I suppose the person who lost them isn’t an IDO person; but how could you be a serious pool 2 guy and not belong to IDO?

I caught a pair of glasses a couple of weeks ago.

Was out yesterday on pool 2. 6 eye’s, a couple of saugers and a bunch of smallies.

Found a shallow running crank hanging from a tree. So I tied it after I broke off a jig. First 3 cast’s with it I had 2 smallies and a sauger. Not too bad for free.

All eyes were under 18 and were caught with pitching a jig and half crawler.

I was out on Thursday on the upper half of P2 and the current was faster than typical for this time of year. A bit of wood, but nothing extraordinary.

Trolling cranks was the best with the largest coming in at 22″ – the rest were <18″.

Shoes and sunglasses were not on the end of my line, but I did catch my first prophylactic. Don’t ask – all I can say is it wasn’t in packaging.

Hitting it again on Monday from 494 landing.

So after all this, I never did make it out!

Ended up hitting the Croix instead, could only stay for the evening and not the night so went there. Onesie twosie crappies and that was all, missed the sound of a clicker going off. Ah well, maybe this week I guess. I did find out that the fisher twins have been sneaking out with the kid sitter and shore fishing P2, not sure where they learned that from?

Mike and I saw one those floating down the river the other day. And then we might have seen the boat responsible for the above mentioned protective device. It was beached with a great big umbrella covering the back end. People need to get their priorities straight and fish on the river or at the very least protect the river by disposing their protection properly.

I noticed that boat also…..I thought…cool….a tent for the boat….then I noticed the wake coming off of the beached boat. JK of course.

No its just pool 2. I caught a couple of plastic grocery bags, 10 feet of romex, and a couple dish towels on saturday…

PS…anybody gettn out any of these weeknights?

I just checked out the river gauge again and we are on a slow decline. The river has dropped a little over 6″ in the last 10 days. So stability and clarity wise things should be pretty good out there. Now if I could just get out there and find out!
