My BIL and myself are thinking about soaking some bullies on pool 2 saturday night. My question is…What launch do you go out on that doesnt close at 10pm?

It depends on your boat. If you have a shallow drafting easy to launch boat check out The public Launch a Spring Lake above the Hastings dam. IT has no closure time that I know of. It is very shallow and unimproved. We usually have to wade out to get my buddies s-16 launched with a roller trailer.

I’ve had good luck at both Lyon’s Levee and 494. Both are posted at 10 or 11PM, but I have not had an issue later than that. I know at Lyon’s I have talked to the cops so they know my truck, that said there are typically a few rigs sitting when I leave between midnight and 2AM. They said they are more interested in the partying than the catfishers. May want to leave a note on the dash that says “Catfishing! Call Me At …..” to avoid a tag? CZ

The City of SSP considers the 494 access to be a city park. SSP has an ordinance that says you can’t leave your vehicle in the parking lot of a city park overnight. If I remember right, the 494 access closed hours are 12 PM to 4 AM. People have gotten ticketed for leaving their vehicles down there after midnight. It’s beaurocratic stupidity at it’s finest, but that’s the way it is.

If you use the 494 access, just park on the road on the other side of the bridge.

Excellent advice/idea! Sounds like the local Barney’s are reasonable people. The only thing I would worry about there late is the partyers.

The us army corp of engineers web site should have a map that shows the river and wingdams. Think Hot Spots used to have a paper map to that you may find at a tackle shop.
