So last weekend on the river, we had some issues finding a spot to beach and bbq, it was busy due to the holiday. As I’m sure you river rats like me know, there are numerous spots that are first come first serve, really cool spots complete with furniture and such. Met one guy with a whole garden on every exposed surface of his 40′ houseboat, he’s staying the summer, had a nice gig going! I know this is Army Corp land for the most part, and that as kids we had some kick butt ‘cabin’ spots we made that we’d hang out at, at least until the Corp decided we were getting too elaborate (the porcelain urinal nailed to a tree was probably a little overboard)and tore things down. As an adult (semi) river rat, just curious what etiquette is on spots, what you’ve ran into camping, and what items are a must have for Czech’s Place on Pool 2?

Honestly, don’t temped me! No cabin tax here baby!

Even better, there’s an adjacent deep hole and some timber in the shallows right next to where the dock is going.

A few weeks ago we saw the DNR dismantling some guys shack in the woods north of Spring Lake. So I wouldn’t get to fancy or big. Have fun!

Don’t quote me but I thin k camping on NFWS Refuge time limit is two weeks. Then you must move at least 1/2 mile.
