That’s right we caught, kept, and ate 4 CHANNEL CATS yesterday! I took my 85 year old father-in-law Ed out on 2 yesterday for a short trip to find some crappies or sunnies or something for a little fish fry. Of course we caught some nice eating sized walleyes and saugers. Ed was a little disappointed we couldn’t legally keep any of them. Then he caught a little cat and asked if we could keep it. Yes sir! We caught three more. We ate them last night. And Ed and I had a good time.

Of course I forgot the camera.

No Jason we were gone by 2:30. What are you driving out there? I bet I know half the guys out on the pool; but I only recognize a handful of the boats. I drive a blue Lund Mr. Pike 17 with a 115 Yamaha.

And Brian I don’t know how Ed cooked them up. I missed the prep part; but they were good!

I’m pretty sure there are warnings saying not to eat any of the pool2 fish due to pcb or mercury..

Catch and release on pool 2 only aplies to walleye, sauger, smallmouth and large mouth bass. Per the state guidelines on pool 2 you can eat 1 meal a week of catfish. if you are pregnant or under 15 then it is one meal a month. You cann see all the info on fish consuption by lake/river by going to the site

    http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/eh/fish/eating/sitespecific.html

Not sure if links are allowed on this site so hopefully this will stay in
