Question about pool 17

    I’m not looking for spots or anything like that, just curious does anyone ever fish pool 17? I was wondering how much traffic you see on that pool compared with ones like 16 or 13 which can see a bit of traffic at times during the summer.

    For the people fishing pool 17, what’s the main attraction catfish, bass, walleye?

    Maybe it a well kept secret, I almost never hear anything about this pool…

    Pool 17 gets plenty of pressure. Lots of walleye, crappie, and bass fishing. Quite a few tourneys also.

    Are we talking about P17 above lock and dam 17 New Boston, or below l&d 17 which many locals refer to as pool 17 also?

    Above New Boston, below Muscatine. I was thinking of chasing some cats there, if i don’t hit pool 16 again.
