When pitchn jigs/ringworms in shallow and out of current, what weights are more preferred? 1/16, 1/8,3/8, 1/4…..

Like today with the water level normal or low on pool 4.

And does jighead color make a lot of difference this time of year?

if there isnt much current then usually use anywhere from a 1/16 up to a 3/16. usually dont need to go heavier if you are fishing shallow unless there is a lot of wind. if there is a lot of current then usually 3/16 or a 1/4. i always use the rule of use the lightest jig that still lets you feel the bottom.

    great response Netmann14!

    Jig color can be a difference…basic rule…
good clarity=unpainted, black, or milder contrast colors
poor clarity= high contrast colors, chart orange, glow eyes, etc…
One of the best guides on the river uses black or sour apple 90% of the time…
For casting shallows I am throwing 1/16-3/16oz
    for dragging, 3/32-1/16oz seldom over…
