anyone seen the river and launches lately? I have been really tempted to go down there and check it out but havne’t made it. With the sunny days and upper 20’s and 30’s I’m curious how close we are.

    Micah –

Drove by today. River is really open but the landings are a bit suspect still

We are really close to the point of breaking out the chisels again on 494. There still is a big ice lip there as of yesterday afternoon; but the ice just beyond that lip might be already gone or close.

They are going to be doing some work under the bridge soon so it will be closed on and off. I will post when I find out the dates and times.

As much as I love fishing Pool-2, P4 really isn’t that far

Not to mention who at the landing has the good advice, great company, and hot coffee

    Hey, Dean? Where ya at?

As much as I love P4, where else can you get the smell of the sewage treatment plant, the bakery, and the compost pile all in one inhalation? I miss P2!

I did go chipping by myself yesterday morning. I made some progress. I don’t know where it is at now; but it has to be close. I also used some Na on the ramp Perhaps there are people launching there this afternoon?

Well there ought to be somebody launching this afternoon. The ramp is a go, the temps are alright, and the winds are light. It doesn’t look good for me tonight; but I got the batteries charging and gear is being assembled.

Alright…lets hear it. Who got out? I stared down a hole in the ice this morning … hopefully for the last time this season. I’ll be prepping my boat this week and hopefully find some time to put my new SI unit on before the next warmup.

I saw 5 trailers in the parking lot around 4 pm. Starting the motor for 30 seconds in the garage is as close as I got today. But I am ready to go now!

I got out late Sunday afternoon and made a couple drifts by the airport but only got one small sauger. Towards evening I anchored on a wingdam and stayed until well after dark but didn’t get anything. There was just too much ice floating down the channel to run faster than no-wake speed once it got dark. Lots and lots of ice. The ramp was in excellent shape.
