So Genmar is buying out Champion Boats assets?

Was just on the Anglersworld.com site under boats and looks like Genmar is buying out the holdings for Champion Boats. Will they take over and not produce any or will it kick in some money and start producing them again? I wish they would start up the factory again. I love my 20′ Champ. Handles rough water great! Of course if they do produce boats then they are in direct competition with Ranger of which they also own. They did the same thing with Cajun (close down the factory) when they started to loose Ranger owners. Ranger gets a better price than Cajun but the Champ is right up there, too.

Word out of Genmar is that they may use the Champion line to fit a niche in the central to South central US. They may have the FLW South running mostly Ranger products for bass, and R-C-&L boats up here. The Champions and Rangers may have thier own circuit around the South central US. Stay tuned. I heard they may have one walleye boat still available, but nothing for sure that I have heard as of yet….
