Any ice left?

Anyone know if there’s safe ice at Bussey? If not, anywhere else in that area? I was thinking about heading up there Saturday for a little adventure.

I would think the ice on the dead water lakes should be good yet?? But you could bring up your boat, the river should be open below the locks at Gutt..The boat landing at Lynx. Dam has been open for a few days now ,make a run for there.I would think the sauger bite should be good enough to kill the cabin fever.Any place that you have to cross current is a no no for a while for sure.Like the Ambroes area !!! I think I’ll drive up and check it out. If it looks bad, I’ll head over to Volga lake. They should still have good ice, and I’ve never fished it. Lake Meyer is another possibility. We’ll just have to wait and see. Not like I’m adverse to just driving around and seeing the sights if the weather isn’t too bad.

I usually leave the boat sit in the winter. Seems to me there’s too much financial risk if I screw something up and wreck the outboard. Maybe someday I’ll get gutsy.
