2nd Annual Trout Day

I will be hosting my Second Annual Trout Day in Beautiful Forestville State Park APril 27, 2002.

This is a FREE event for all. There are a lot of things still in development stages, but I will fill you in on what is in place so far.

This event was created to get stream and small river fisherman, kids and all, together to learn, share information and fish!

I have committments from MInn Aqua (part of the DNR educational division) and the Lanesboro fisheries office.

Minn Aqua is geared towards educating and taking kids fishing and the Lanesboro office will be demonstrating electro-fishing techniques along with historical and current ecological information.

I need kids there people!!! Minn Aqua might not come back next year if we don’t have a great turn out! Cub scout groups, youth groups, your kids or the neighbor’s kids are all welcome. I will need some form of confirmation, assisting the Minn Aqua rep in preparation. SO let me know!!!!

THere will be free door prizes and guide trips given away. Some of the door prizes include custom built rods, gift certificates to local sporting goods bait/tackle stores.

There will be seminars/presentations, fishing, BBQing etc.

WHy am I doing this you might ask? To share?!!! Because I love to fish and everyone needs to give trout fishing and small stream/river smallmouth fishing a shot once in there life time. If not just for the pure grandeur that the bluffs and valleys of SE MN behold!!!

John Eggers EFN PRoStaff member will be attending, helpingout as well. Time to twist some arms of more EFN staffers to join in as well!!

Have you tried out the local schools, thier bio classes could be interested. Plus some of the schools in your region have classes geared towrds the outdoors!!!… I’ll try to contact some of the teachers I know in the Rochester area, along with the Plainview/Elgin/ Millview Area. One other Item would be to tie In with the new proposal with Big Brother / Big Sister program being brought to our attention in regards to EFN/FTR/FTL. I would be more than happy to help you out with this “Adventure”
