    guys,

Just a heads up that the Chippiwa is pouring mud into the mississippi. As of noon the mud was down to the interstate bridge. Duran WI and the area had between 6 and 7.5″ of rain Thursday night. Not sure how long it will take to clear but I’d stay above the Chip for the next few days.

John, I crossed the bridge into Red Wing today and took a double take. It’s a brown river here too.

The Trembelle in front of Evert was blowing out all sorts of wood up to trees today along with the very brown water…although that might be the sand bar that it was moving.

Either way…rising water always means to take extra caution for debris that like props or worse.

Yes John, I launched at Wabasha Friday morning and ran up around the corner toward Reeds only to be met by a wall of mud. Immediately thought about the Chippewa and what I had seen on radar the night before. Headed back down to lower 4 but by the end of the day the mud had made its way to just north of the Lock at Alma.

How to describe the color of the water? Put extra creamer in your A.M coffee and you would be close. Tan, light tan at that. Crazy. It felt really strange to run my boat in that stuff.
