    Hey there !!!

I have taken my boat to LaCrosse before..that was a 2 hour run and had some wait time for locks..but you just never know …if you have up bound and down bound barges at the same time at one lock…you may as well drop anchor or find a nice beach….

Places to tie up ? well in McGreggor there is a marina right in front of town..one in front of Marquette too..there is a gambling boat out front of Marquette incase that interests you…

over in PdC there is the Prairie Marina that is real close to Down Town…If you have mapping on your boat you will want to take the East channel towards Prairie and then head back north towards Big Lake…take the right , right before you get into Big Lake(there is a barge loading company on your right) and follow that around to the no wake bouys…500 yards or so down that cut your will find the Prairie Marina

    PdC Marina 608-326-8032
    McGreggor Marina 319-873-9613
    Marquette Information Center 319-873-1200

Places to eat and drink in PdC…
my first choice would be Ft. Mulligans right on Blackhawk Ave(PdC’s main drag) from there just walk up the street to multiple drinking establishments !!!

I know McGreggor has plenty of eat and drink places as well all in walking distance…and Marquette has the Marquette Hotel that has one of the best 1/2 pound burders and FF I have ever eat’n..

Hope this info helps you out and have a safe and fun trip !!!

Big Bass tourney out of Prairie du Chien this weekend. keep that in mind. There will be a lot of boats and the ramps in the area will be rather busy

Don’t walk past Pete’s burger stand across the street from Starks in PdC without a $3 burger! Pending wind direction you’ll smell it from a block away. And don’t be scared off by the line of customers either. The wait is worth it.

Last time I had a burger at Pete’s, we had to wait 20 min.–went across the street and bought a boat from Stark’s,,,that town is getting expensive for me.
Is the Bar Car still up and running???
