Been doing a little research on the new “Sensation” line from Berkley. They are back ordered at Cabela’s. They want a 3 pack minimum order. Before I drop $20, was wondering if anyone has tried this line? It sounds like it has 20% less stretch than mono and a smaller diameter. I’m a mono freak anyway and this stuff sounds pretty good.

I also purchased a Cabela’s Super Magnum tackle bag with 10 of the Cabela’s large plastic boxes. Anyone else own one of these?

    Steve,

I have one of the magnum boxes with 12 large plastic boxes in there. Overall, I like it. Got a little heavy when I first got it due to all my jigs and 3-way weights were in there too. Since then, I have migrated to several purpose specific boxes that lighten the load and now I have the magnum jammed completely full of cranks.

I have not used the new Sensation line yet, was kiind of looking for feedback as well.

Let us know if you hear something.

    thanks dee-zee.

I’ve got a smaller bag that I think I’ll keep my jigs and plastics in. Because of a business relationship with a lure manufacturer, I’ve had the good fortune to get a large number of hard bodied lures and I’ve run out of room.

will let you know on the line. I’m sort of excited about it because it sounds like it’s married superlines and mono together. could be the best of both worlds.

Seeing how you live so close to me, just hold out before you do anything. My B.A.S.S. membership comes with a spool of Sensation and you can try some for free. If you want to be in a hurry, skip Cabela’s and hit Galyan’s…………..they’re loaded with the stuff!

Ya Hey Der – SteveO I’m sponsored by Berkley (Purefishing) and have fished that string now for a year, and I can tell ya it’s great !! I use it Jig fish’n for Eye – you can real feel those lite biters. I can also cast a 1/8 oz Tube Bait for Smallies with a BaitCaster with ease. It would be an excellent investment for ya, if your one of those guys that maybe change your line out 1 or 2 times a season.

Just a note… Hawger will be giving away a number of spools of the Berkley Sensation line at his seminar next Monday night. Stop in, catch the talk, and see if you can’t lay your hands on a free spool.

the only thing that’s kept me from fishing baitcasters more is my inability to cast lighter lures. I can throw the heavy stuff just fine.

I’ll have to stop and pick up some of the line. Oh, I don’t have any smaller baitcasters either. Guess I’ll have to pick one of those up. I don’t have a rod for it,err, I guess I’ll have to pick one of those up too.

My wife will be so pleased……

    SteveO,

I have a Pinnacle PK10 that’ll cast lures down to 1/8 oz. quite well. Just free up that spool and reduce the centrifugal brake for a good ZING across the water!

I’ll have to show it to you sometime……………..you can get one for about $50.00.

    Kid,

I’d like to take a look at that reel. I still, however, want to take that Sedona off your hands.

I just got my Magnum bag today. Holy Schnikes!!! There is a boatload room in that bad boy. My wife was standing there as I pulled it out of the box along with the 12 magnum lure boxes that came along with it. She rolled her eyes and said “You’re not going to be happy unless you fill that thing up, so go ahead”

    My wife, I think I’ll keep her…..

Yo-SteveO, sorry you begged the question, now I’ll spend your money. Let me give ya a suggestion for an excellent rig that will cast Tubes and Ringworms up on pool 4, and yet feel those lite bite wally’s while jig fish’n.

    Reel – 4600 C5 Mag-x (green-new for 2002)

    Rod – Fenwick HMG-GTC 725 6′ Med. 3/16-5/8 lures

    or

Mitchell Copperhead 300R ($40)(if you can find this reel buy several. Pure Fish(Berkley) discontinued this reel after they purchased the Mitchell brand. In my opinion its by far one of the best reels I’ve ever used.

Rod – Berkley Series One SOC60M

Sorry your not in my area – I teach a Bass Fishing coarse

in April that features HOW-to casting. (flip’n, pith’n, and lite bait throw’n)
