Hi all. I am going to be up near DeSoto for a week +/- starting on Friday. I am not asking for specifics, just curious about the water clarity, depth, and flow. Also what species are going good right now? Any input is appreciated. Maybe I will see some of you on the water.

I was up in the Lansing area last weekend. Quite a few
mayflies had/were hatching. Lots of dead ones on the water creating a good deal of scum. Slack water areas were a bit smelly with decaying mayflies (NOT good for swimming). Water clarity was OK though. Didn’t do well fishing……maybe too much food in the water with the hatch.

I’ve been out the past three evenings. Clarity was excellent. 2 to 3 feet in the back sloughs as well as along the main channel. LMB have been providing the most consistant action with a peter pike or wally walleye mixed in then and again. Texas rigged plastics in weeds was the ticket last night. Tuesday evening chrome blue cranks were working well off the rocks. Not a lot of size to the fish I’ve been catching or I’d have some pictures plastered on IDO. Your best bet to get a tug is to find some rocks with a little a current on 3 to 10 foot breaks. Those locals have been producing for a solid 2 weeks now.

    Goodluck!
