Hey all, I went out and did a little ice fishing this afternoon. I parked at the north ambro landing and walked out to lil and Big Missouri . The ice is still only a couple inches thick at best crossing the slough so be VERY carefull !! There is about 2 to 3 inches of ice once you get to where there is no current. Getting to Big M. be carefull there is thin ice where the slough makes the corner at the south end of the lake. The water is very stained , i’m guessing it’s because the water came up 8 tenths in the last couple of days. I had to move around alot to pick up any fish they seem to be really scattered.Enjoy yourselves and be very very carefull.

Hey EC. Thanks for the report! The Ambro is always an adventure to get across early. Believe me, this I know! Have you heard anything about Mudhen? How about Garnet’s They can be good spots early if you take a boat across and walk in. Or better yet take a hovercraft and ride all the way!

Hey Big B, I haven’t herd about thoes two but i saw about 20 cars and trucks on the road along side of Spring Lake. I was down to the landing down by the sewer plant and that back chanel is froze up to much to take a boat down thru. I’m going to La Crosse tomorrow and I’ll check out the channel to see if you can get over to Mud Hen…..ec
