I see a lot of chatter about the White Bass, right now. When I launch at Everett’s this weekend, what should I look for to catch a bunch. I am going to take my 6 year old, and let him have at it. Shallow water, current seams, sand flats, inflows? What types of baits would be best? Thanks

Many times gulls flocking on the water will give them up. My son actually was snagging them with a jig near the Tremp. dam a few years ago.

We were catching them yesterday (wednesday) right in the opening of the Trimbelle (sp?) where it enters the Mississippi River just upstream from the resort. Small plastics or hair jigs will all put fish in the boat. We were using black precision heads with 2/3rds of a pro blue ringworm.

If you have any good walleye holes that are shallow the white bass will be there, at least they were the other day.

The rock point just downstream from Everts should be loaded with them.Use a jig and small twister tail.
Do not use anything with more than one hook or you will be trying to get multipal (sp)hooks out of there guts and wasting fishing time.Your little guy will be plum tuckered out after a day of catching whites, get some before and after pics and post them.

Whats the limit on white bass out there? 20 or so a person?

    Andy,
in the MN regs, in the MN/WI border section lists the Possession limit as 25 fish.
