Body of Wis. Man Found 7 Months After Disappearance
Nearly seven months after Hager City, Wisconsin man disappeared and was presumed drowned, his body was found in the back waters of the Mississippi River.
According to the Pierce County Herald, the body of Robert More, 53, was found Sunday on an island south of Red Wing.
More was last seen March 28 leaving Mr. Sippi Bar in Hagar City. He lived on a nearby houseboat that was anchored in a back channel of the Mississippi River.
After the disappearance, rescue teams and divers searched the area. But due to high water, cold temperatures and fast currents, they were only able to search for three days.
The Pierce County Herald reported that investigators do not suspect foul play in More’s death.
More’s parents, who are from Blue Earth, were in Alaska caring for More’s brother when they received word of More’s disappearnce.
More’s brother Dennis More died June 19.
Duane More, Robert’s father, said More had moved to the houseboat a few years ago after his wife had died of cancer.
