I can’t travel to pool 4 very often and that’s too bad because every time i’ve been there it was full of great fish and pleasant sportsman! So I’m asking for help with pools 21 and down, these would be alot closer about 200 miles. If anybody has info please share!

Welcome to the site toadsuck . I have nothing for you on those pools but hopefully someone in the mist will be able to provide what you are after.

Where do you spend most of your time on the water? What species of fish is your favorite to target in your area’s?

Dustin nice talking to ya! met you and james on my last trip up in nov, count your blessings, you guys live and work around a great part of the country. I live right by Truman Reservoir in missouri. So naturally I do fish it, mostly for spring crappie bite and chase whites and hybrids thru the summer. The eye population is very scattered so I haven’t any pattern but you can usually pick one up while crappie fishing in the spring. I mostly go to Stockton Res, about 40 miles, to concentrate on walleyes. It’s a clear high land type of impoundment and I have spent way too many frustrating days trying to figure it out. My success ratio on pool 4 is so great that I feel exploring other pools on the miss would be time better spent.
I also spent a fair amount of time chasing bows, browns and smallies around our osark streams and it is excellant… but thats another story.

If you can at least make it up to pool 18 I might be able to get you some good info.

Welcome aboard. If you check with the local DNR office they could probably give you some information including sample nettings etc. Glad to have you on the board. Thanks, Bill

Hey Toadsuck, The damn at Keokuk has been hit and miss , our club had its walleye classic there and did real well on eaters. The damn at Canton can be good but like Keokuk it is sporadic at best. 18 at Burlington is usually hot between Turkey Day and Christmas but I have not heard much lately. Will ask around
