A day after James gave the seminar, at the Skeeter Boat Center, I was able to fish Pool 4. That was my first ever prespawn trip. It looks like the the river is at about 676.5 feet and a flow of about 41-42. How does this compare, to the levels of the my last trip, and what is the overall water condition fishability wise? Thanks all and good luck.

Best way to figure this out is to go back and look in your log. I assume you keep one?

My trip log contains stage, flow, temperature, clarity, and weather information for every trip I take. That makes comparisons to current conditions a snap.

Alternatively, you can look at the Rivergages website to see how conditions on your last trip compare to today’s conditions:

While the NOAA site is one of my favorite weather sites, I haven’t been able to make the historical data show up for me like I can with Rivergages.com Rivergages for L&D 3

All you really need to know right now is that this is prime time pre-spawn! Water is high but coming down and is very, very, very, very fishable. It don’t get much better than now to have a chance to go out and stick a real pig!!!
