Access below the Power Plant is open. Week and half ago there was an ATV on the tailwaters. This afternoon a 1/2 dozen boats. Don’t know how the fishing is. Just casual observation on a drive by to work.

L & D #7 has ice on it. I wouldn’t go any further than that.

2 of the rollers on the MN have been raised about 4ft, and there looks to be a lot of current rolling through there. That season should be over.

i know last week there was an ice shelf at the landing yet you had to drive over to get the boat launch. do you know if that is gone yet. i dont like taking a heavy boat over that ice shelf. if you can help with that question i would appreciate it. thanks

There is no shelf. Just some busted up floaters to contend with right at the landing itself. That was as if yesterday afternoon but I’m sure things haven’t changed too much overnight.

Good question for Mark Clements. Stop in Capn Hooks sometime and pry him.

For the most part you can fish almost all year below Genoa.
The only real issue you have is the ramp itself. It gets real slippery since people STILL haven’t figured out how to drain their trailers. If you can get past that obstacle, the river is usually open from the ramp and quite a ways south.

Good point Wats….slip your rig just out of the water and give it a chance to drain, someone is going to be right behind you

They use to keep a barrel of sand at the ramp, do they still provide the sand, or should a guy be sure to have some in the truck?

That ramp is at a good angle

There is a pile of sand sitting at the top of the ramp.

There needs to be a sign posted about letting your trailer drip dry in freezing temps and the possibility of icy conditions. Seems to be common sense, but for some it takes the trailer wrapped around their truck to learn.
