pool 4 hot bite

Just a quick report for ya. I got out and was able to fish all day. (Thanks Mavzer for watching the place for me!!!) The sauger bite was VERY good today. Caught fish all day long. Fished below the “Y” 99% of the time. minnows and plastics both worked the same. 24-30 ft of water. Didn’t try the wally bite shallow. Too much ice on the rod eyes to cast all day. Talked to couple of guys that had luck doing that though. Just another observation….We caught 25-30 six to ten inch walleyes today. Looks good for the future! Good Luck to all

PS. I wonder how many of ya think……..”Listen to this guy, he is giving a excellent report and he works at a resort. Of course he is gonna say the fish are bitin!” Just a thought. (but they really are!!!)

Both Nate and I have known Steve from his DNR days and when he says they are bitting, they are bitting. He’s a good honest guy. Thanks for the report.

Hey Steve, I gotta tell ya I went by your place in Oct. and Nov. (haven’tbeen up in Dec. yet), …Well it looks a lot different than it used to! But then again until this year, it has been 20 years since I got that close to dam 3. We are starting to hear real good things about the job you’re doing down here where I live! I will be up next weekend if weather permits and plan to visit you now that I remember how to get to you! One question though, how will I know where to park without all that instruction I used to get? LOL….B….Oh yeah, can I phone for ramp&river conditions?

Thanks for the comments. Feel free to call for the info if you like. Within the next week or so, James will have set up a link to a website of the resort with all the info. He is also setting up a fishing/ramp report for me to do. So that will be updated daily. (Although I will be gone the week before x-mas. CANCUN, HERE I COME!!!) That should help people out. I have a buddy staying here to take care of things while i’m gone
