Where is all the water coming from? The flow is high , the river stage is high and I can’t seem to find much for fish !! What in the…Who in the ??? Is there a Web Site where I can check the river flow up and down the river ? I caught a couple walleye yesterday on a 3-way up by the dam but today i couldn’t even boat a fish, fishing right out of town .

    ec,

You can check the Stage and Flow from our homepage. There is a link at the top of the page. Its fairly reliable. The data is from noaa. Sometimes they change the location of their data files and it gets to be a trick for me but lately its been pretty consistent. Its updated every morning shorly after 8 am.

Thanks Hougie, figures it would be right under my nose. What seems to be trend for catching fish up in your neck of the water. Alot of times one can use the same patterns up and down the river.

    thanks again for everthing

I sold my boat about a month ago so I really dont know. I have not been out or heard anything about pool 8. I have seen a few boats on the WI side up at the dam. With the increased flow now Im sure that the fish are tucking into the eddies and hanging tight to the dams above the I-90. Im sure the dams on the upper end of the pool have some fish on them much like DeeZee has been reporting up on pool 2. Throwing plastic or hair is usually what Im doing this late in the year. Pulling 3 ways on the flats between the dams in 10-14′ has also worked in the past.

Hi Dave Was up at the Lynxville Dam after work tonight (Bldg.49) and the weeds and current on the Wisc. side were not good for anything. The water color on that side still doesn’t want to clean up.Float side much better in that respect. Caught one nice eye and 5 small saugers long lining on the float side. Not many people out and I was surprised at that with the big front coming in!! Talked to some of the old hands that were around and they said there was a small bight that took off for a while in mid day? Take that for what it’s worth Well have a good one.

Is it possible the waters are up from all that snow that’s left the snowmobilers cursing? That white blanket was gone in a week.
