I am excited to speak at the January 7th, Rochester Walleye Searchers Club meeting. I will share my knowledge on drop-shot rigging and use of Berlkey Power Baits, and introduce my new Hawg-EYE Floater & Fireworks Waterlog Jig. I will also discuss the fantastic growth of EFN and share some of our plans for future development. And announce our association with BB/BS of Minnesota.

Please join me and the Walleye Searchers members for an evening of fun and information.

I ask for one of the club’s members to please post detailed directions here to find the Elk’s Club, for those that may come from out of Rochester.

Hello, The meeting place for Walleye Searchers and where EFNs Dave “Hawger” Hoggard will be speaking is at the Elks Club in SE Rochester. For example, coming from Owatonna you would come in on Hwy 14 and take the turn off to the right at Hwy 52 in Rochester. Go south until Hwy 14 turn off [by Apache Mall Shopping Center] and take that turn off which will wrap around and take you East on Hwy 14. Stay on Hwy 14 a couple miles until you come to 15th Ave. SEwhere there is a Shopping Center on the left side and a Burger King. Turn left [north] at the intersection and a short ways past the Shopping Center on the left side is a building with a parking lot that is the Elks Club. If you would be coming into Rochester from the north from Lake City for an example, you stay on Hwy 63 which changes into Broadway [main street] until you come to Hwy 14 and turn left on 14 and go a couple miles til you reach 15th Ave SE and turn left and go to Elks Club on the left. If anyone needs more directions please feel free to e-mail Bill or Nate at [email protected] or call us at 507-287-0649. PS There is an address for the Elks Club with small map on the website for Walleye Searchers at http://www.walleyesearchers.com Hope this helps. Bill and Nate

    Hawger,

Could you send your e-mail address to [email protected]. I want to put together something for the newspaper about your upcoming talk at Walleye Searchers and may need more information.

    Thanks

For your info: Hawger is also the person who invented the famous “Walleye Willow Spoon” that is sold by Bait Rigs Co. Hope to see everyone there.

    And I thank you!

And I will add, the Walleye Willospoon was once on the cover of In-Fisherman… this made my millenium! On FTL they are talking lures for ice right now….. and it is all I can do not to rattle off volumes on what a great ice “flutter spoon” it truely is.

hmmmm so YOUR responsible for those willow spoons? one of my fishing buddies kicked my nethermost region one night with those, while fishing the flats on Mille lacs through the ice….. I finally had to admit they were a difference maker…. one of my main weaknesses is I tend to fish heavy lures and I dont tend to switch up to lighter quick enough….. works for me lots of times… but not ALL the time…

Oh yea… I have the hardest time with “tournament-minded” folk that want to get down there fast.

So… ya get there fast… if they do not hit once it is there… you just saved time to catch nothing. Rather when I get down there… I want a fish in my line! A Walleye Willospoon, nothing like it for the catching. The stories I could tell you… about this spoon. I should do a product review on it someday.

Just remember to sharpen the hook when it is gold plated… a must.

    Thanks, Hawger

hey Hawger excellent seminar sorry i had to leave early dad was with and had to be back home to meet someone last night at 9 pm. i was the kid who had his hand used for a minnow in the front. Anyway i waswondering if instead of a swivel used in front of the rig to prevent weeds from coming down the line if u put on a slip knot with a bead above it if that would prevent to problem. Thank for the wonderful info. that u shared with us last night

Thanks for giving me a “hand” Erick! Yep, that will work too. Anything that’ll keep the alge and crud from traveling down the line to your lure would help.
