That would be a fantastic idea. You could definitely count me in for a seminar like that.

I’m gonna call the Lakeville store over my lunch. I’ll see what Joe says about getting into the seminar area. Worst case, I know we can get into the Minnetonka store. They even let the fly guys come weekly there.

    More to follow.

I now it’s a far drive for most, but I know the store manager here in La Crosse. If anybody is interested I can go and talk to him.

Reefrunner ties some dandies as well. Greg, any chance you’d be interested in demo-ing some of your techniques if we could throw this seminar together? I think it would be great to get together a number of skilled tiers, vs. just having a lone guy on hand, to show their ideas and tricks behind a good tail! I’d MC the thing if you guys would have me and keep the whole deal moving along.

Let me know Greg. Or just answer here…

Does the jig type make a difference? What I’m talking about is the type of mold.

Stand up, pill shape, regular ball style…
    Short hook, long hook???
Do you tie on a jig with a skirk holding shank to spread the hair and hold it in place better, or do you use a regular style ball with no plastic holder?

Depending on the time yes I could help out..
However I’m getting out of the jig making and tying bizz…so don’t be asking for me to tye ya or make ya any…
But I would be glad to pass on my humble words in this area…

I like jigs with the hair tied right to the shank of the hook… no collar. Doing this though requires a few tricks to get the hair to fluff right… something I KNOW we’d cover at this seminar if we can throw it together.

thanks Greg. I know you’re getting out of the business but we sure would appreciate your expertise. Thank you!

OK guys, here is the scoop on Gander. There is no cost for us to use the seminar room. All we need to do is pick a date, I or whomever can coordinate with Emmy for availibility. So, what is the consensus for dates/time. Would a weekday evening be better for most, weekend afternoon?? James, what do you think??

One other thing. I’d be willing to print up some fliers to post around local bait stores etc… if someone creative sent me a word document, I’ll print and distribute around the west metro.

Works for me. Unless the wife has something to say about it. Knowing that it’s a Sunday, I’m guessing the seminar will happen anywhere from noon till 4? Correct

    DON’T YOU GUYS DEER HUNT!!!!!!!!

I know I don’t have much say, but to me and I feel other deer hunters, maybe a 11 to 2 or 3 at the latest, gives us guys time to get to the woods for the last two hours of light?!?!?!?!

Sounds interisting to me. Due we get to use the kayak pool also for trying them out. Think they would mind if we slipped a few eyes into the pool?
