hook in thumb

I found another reason to keep treble hooks sharp!
If it is stuck in your thumb it is easier to push on through if it is sharp.
I was fishing on pool 9 last weekend,caught a sheephead. I was kind of sloppy about unhooking the fish. Grabed the needlenose and the crank treble to shake him off, he flopps and holy smoke the other treble is buried in my thumb!
Unhooked the sheephead and looked at the crankbait hanging off my thumb. I am 52 years old and first time for this event.
No way it would back out, the barbs really do work! So I pushed it on through, clipped off the barb and backed out the hook.
How many of you guys have had a similar event happen?
