In the past I have launched at the indian slough landing, but I’m wondering if you can even get out of there to the channel with the low water levels now. If not can someone tell me where there is a public landing on the wabasha side of the river. thanks

Last weekend there were alot of jon boats being put in the different slough ramps along the bridge and Nelson. I don’t know how deep it is but I doubt its deep. There is a park area with a nice ramp in Wabasha, its next to the Marina, a half block or block away from the Marina ramp. They charge 8.00 but I don’t think anyone is there to collect the money this late in the year. Thanks, Bill

Don’t forget there is one in Alma on the upper end of the dam. It is in the Alma Marina. This landing get over looked alot. It has quick access to the big lake up crooked solough.

Hey Jarred, Do they charge to put in there? Is it private or public? Thanks, Bill

This is a city owned landing and there is no charge.

Thanks Bud. Always nice to have several places a person can put in at on a pool. Thanks, Bill

    Bill,

I heard that the DNR bought the landing at Eick’s Park. (Wabasha, Parkside Marina) Did you hear anything about this?

This is only a rumor, and also heard DNR will put in 4 more ramps to make a total of 8. Would be nice. Wabasha charges a rip off $8. DNR would be free as I understand.

    Has anyone else heard this??

I haven’t heard of that before but it sure would be nice if they did. They have added alot of ramps over the recent years along the road from Wabasha to Nelson, Wisc. for smaller boats to get into the backwaters. Another ramp for bigger boats would sure be nice. Anyone heard about this? Thanks, Bill

I also heard that the MN DNR had purchased the landing in Wabasha. But no one seems to know if that is true or not.

You probably could make it out to the river from Indian Slough but you better have it on the pad. You probably could make it to Big Lake without much trouble. I can only think of one sandbar that might be a hassle getting over. If you are not sure of your route over these sandbars and wing dams, I wouldn’t take the chance.
