Adam Ramer holding a custom rod he won from Red Barn Rods of Dodge Center, MN. All tackle for the trip was provided by Jig A Whopper of Dodge Center MN.

Adam Ramer, age 14 of Mantorville, MN won this day on the water with EFN PRo-Staffer and Pro-fishing guide Brett King. Adam was only one of the many winners in the Marigold Days Kids Fishing Contest. The event was held Labor Day weekend in Mantorville, MN. This was a huge contest with about 200 kids fishing for many prizes. Every kid left this contest with a prize!

“This is what it is all about”, says Brett King, “I would like to thank Billy Glawe for all his hard work putting this together for the kids, and for inviting me as a guest”. “Remember to take a kid fishing!”

Brett also thanks Steve Olson (EFN staff photographer) and Dave Hoggard (EFN Pro-Staff Manager) for their efforts in getting these photos.

And they caught a few fish to boot!

Introducing the next generation of potential anglers is as important as habitat improvements and education to the preservation of the sport we all love so dear. Make it a point this next season to take a youngster fishing… niece, nephew, son or daughter….. they’ll never forget the time they spend on the water with you!

    I’ll take this one!

I am Dave Hoggard, EFN Marketing Director and Pro-Staff Manager. EFN is the parent company name chosen for http://www.fishtheriver.com and http://www.fishthelake.com by James Holst and Steve Hougom.

The Electronic Fishing Network is long… that it handy to say just as “EFN”. A joint name was needed to communicate the “two-part” company to our many contacts in the fishing industry. Growth on FTL (fishthelake) has taken off and both sites will soon be boasting fishing related ads that are so-needed to help pay our bills and help us to grow.

Lots of changes coming in the future for EFN sites. One recent change is the addition of 25 EFN Pro-Staff associates. Brett King being one of them. I plan to post a listing soon of all of the EFN staff.

I would like to thank Brett for his efforts involving this Kids Fishing Contest. Brett, you’ll get to use the biggest leeches and have your pick of those lively river chubs, when you get to heaven…. for doing deeds like this! Keep up the good work in working with these kids. They are the future of fishing!

Sounds like a great way to get kids interested in fishing. The pictures sure show how happy that boy was. Just the smiles on his face makes it all worthwhile. Bill and Nate
