I found a little free time today while working at our antique shop in Red Wing , so I took a tour to Evert’s, instead of shorecasting, to say “Hi” to Dean. Gotta say, he’s always doing something. But that’s why the place looks like it does….neat and orderly. I have always enjoyed talking with him.
The weather early today, namely the temperature, was responsible for leaving the long rod home. After doing the banking I usually hit the levee park and cast jigs, but ice in the guides wasn’t on my list today and my alternative use of the time was a great choice.
Thanks Dean for the confab! The next time, I will be sure to bring some edibles….he seemed to have cookies stashed at various strategic locations throughout the shop. I’m sure there is a method to his madness, but maybe a box of fresh cookies next to his register would help keep him in one place.
One of these trips I am going to have to bring the boat. Its been three years now since it has seen Red Wing waters and that would give me another excuse to get over there and “bs” with Dean again. He rally is just a heck of a nice guy.
