Maybe I haven’t been around long enough, but…..

Have any of the rest of my fellow Pool 4 addicts heard about the crash of a B-24 Liberator bomber near Pepin WI? It apparently happened in December 1944. The wreckage was brought up in Spring 1945 and then dumped at the foot of the lake in 60+ fow.

It looks like the posts were from 2006. Does anyone know if they dove the site & did they find anything?

Very interesting. In the early 70’s an older guy I worked with told us about this. The guy was a heavy drinker and had some stories about fishing that were hard to believe, I thought this was just another one of his stories. He was in his 60’s then and was from the Wabasha area. Got me thinking that maybe some of his fish stories were true too.

Very cool reading. I sent the gentleman an email to see if he ever found it during his dives. I gotta beleive there is heavy silting at the bottom of Pepin that could make it very difficult to find.

There was an article is the Rochester Post Bulletin a month back or so. I’m not a subscribber to PB so I cannot locate it on its website. Maybe someone from Rochester (Steve Plantz) or something could post that article.
