My wife was actually the one to bring it to my attention, but the St Paul paper is reporting there are plans to close the lower 5 miles of pool 3 to everything but commercial boat traffic until further notice. The closing is because of the location of the nuclear power plant. I wonder how they are going to patrol the area, and what it means to the marina at Treasure Island? For the next few months I suppose it is not really a big deal but I hope resolutioon can be reached by next spring. I have enjoyed the run from the cities to Red Wing as an outing, even though the fishing on that part of the river hasn’t been anything great the couple of times I have tried there.
