Can anyone give me any advice on battery chargers? I understand that batteries can get a memory if they are not drained before re-charging, but I keep my boat in a slip and charging batteries on a 24 volt system, with one portable charger can take a lot of time.

I would like to go to an on board battery charger so I can charge both batteries over night.

Any imput on brands or any other information would be appreciated. thanks

SNAKEYES, I’ve been running a guest model 2611 for the last 4 seasons, have’nt had a lick of problem with it.Plug her in at nite when I get home and she’s ready to go by morning.

Ditto on the guest chargers. I have 2, 2620s and never had any trouble.

Mark me down as a ‘Ditto”. Never had a problem with Guest. Great chargers in my opinion!

I also endorse Guest Model 2611 chargers. They appear to be bulletproof in their operation. A great investment.

Ok, how about another ditto. I charge 3 batteries with mine (boat stays in the slip) Keeps the boat battery up

too in case of big rain, automatic bilge pump won’t drain it

We fish for anything (do prefer walleyes though)

Thanks for all the replys. It’s very clear that Quest chargers is the popular choice. That makes my choice much easier. I value your opinions.

And yes, I love to fish walleyes but I also fish northerns, crappies and bluegills.

    Thanks again.

Lead acid type bateries like we use in our boats can not develop a memory. The only batteries I know of that do that are Ni Cads like those used in cell phones cameras etc. No need to completly drain your trollong motor batteries.

Thanks for clearing up the battery memory thing. I don’t know where I got that idea, but that is what I’ve been doing, (draining the battery). Thanks again
