I have never been happy storing my boat with “Commercial Operations”. The few times I have done it I had problems. The biggest problem is getting your rig back when you want it. Most places will “Stack” you in. Meaning you must show up on a certain day/time to drop it off or pick it up. Most times that means you won’t see your boat till April because there are 2 motor homes and 2 hot rods between your boat and the door! If you decide to work with one of these operations, make sure it is clear when you get your boat back.

The individual storage areas are way too expensive.

The best situation is to find a private party in your neighborhood with a garage space to rent month to month. That way if spring comes early, you are back on the river before the lakes thaw!! Finding a good, reliable safe storage spot is like finding a new fishing spot. When you do find it, you feel lucky and keep it to yourself.

    Good Luck.

    Nate,

Try Pritzl’s in Lake City. They rent 10 X 28 foot private storage units for $30/month. A guy can get in and out whenever they want. You can’t beat the price or the location. I don’t have their phone number handy but the owner’s name is Dan Pritzl. I’d bet he’s in the phone book.

Thanks James. We just got back from putting Nates new boat in the storage place you suggested. Its great to have a place that a person can get in and out of whenever they want and protect it too. Also now I can get my boat out of the driveway cause Nates boat is no longer parked in front of my boat blocking me in. Ever since he got the new boat he has insisted on his boat being in the front so he can get to the river 1st. ha. I can smell those walleyes on the end of my line now! I think I need to follow that smell to the river! Thanks, Bill and Nate

No Its not that I have to get to the river first but if his was in front I wouldn’t get down there untill noon you know at his old age he requires more sleep. no but seriously James what do you do about electricity to charge your batteries because they don’t have any. thought about just running a bunch of exstension cords down the street to your place but then I just figured it would be much easier to go into your stall and just switch batteries so that way mine are always charged HA HA. I didn’t ask if they had any electricity available if they do please let me know.

    Thanks alot Nate

    Nate,

I can not speak for James but if I remember correctly at one time or another he told me he had to take his batteries home and charge them. But I am sure he will let you know for sure.
