Crappies on the River

My dad and uncle went fishing earlier today and my dad said he thought he had a crappie but didn’t get it in the boat so couldn’t tell. Has any one else seen them on the river?

yeah, there out on the river, but some have some nice size to them. the ones that i have caught on the river have been some nice slabs.

They like to hang around in the fallen timber along the back channels and sloughs. There are some big ones too. Thanks, Bill

The slab Crappies and the bull sunfish are thick right now down here in the Wabasha area.
I think the low water has them all driven out on too the channel..
The last two weeks have been awesome for the crappie and sunfish.

yea my father and i caught alot of very nice crappies right below the ford dam in sept 2001 when the water level is right thats the best place ive found for them otherwise wherever there is fallen timber and a little depth should work we were using crappie minnows on jigs and under floats
