So I am putting the baby away for the year this weekend. I was just wondering what I should do with my batteries? Should I drain them or put them away fully charged? Then should I take them out of my boat and put them in the house so they stay warm or does it matter if they get frozen for 4 months? Thanks for the advice.

Store them fully charged. Put them in the house if you can. Check water level and top off with distilled water only. Check charge every month.

    Keep them fully charged.

It is not necessary to keep them in where it is warm, but it would sure avoid freezing and splitting the case if the charge should go down and you didn’t notice until it was too late.

If you keep them in the garage on the floor, set them on a piece of wood. Always monitor the charge.

I keep mine on the basement floor on a piece of wood and top of the charge with a automatic trickle charger about once a month. I have done this every year and just finished my fourth season on the same batteries with no problems.
