Hi…I figure it’s real early yet there by several weeks? Is this right? I’m just used to fishing that area prior to when it ices up….when there are a great number of big walleyes and northerns in the backwaters… Thanks…

    Jenn,

By all accounts yes it is still a bit early but getting closer in terms of the bite at the dam. The night bite has been pretty consisten throughout the fall here as fish are being caught in a variety of different locations such as shallow flats near rocky shorelines and on wing dams after dark. With the water temps now in the high 40’s the bite should really be kicking in. In previous years the water temps were much warmer and the good fishing seemed to be much later so I would expect the good action to start earlier this year. The fish are starting to make their move and are there waiting for you to come catch them!
