Rain or lower temps?

I’ve got a question for all you river guys who have been hitting the different pools for the fall bite. With it now being September, and the temps starting to drop nicely, is it going to matter how low the rivers are? I mean, it’s very hard to find any sort of current… and we definitly need some rain, but how important is it NOW versus a couple weeks ago? I’m assuming the ‘eyes will move to the traditional spots for fall, but will the low water affect them in any way? We are guaranteed having cooler weather from this point on, but rain might be hard to come by.
Just looking for some opinions as to your take on river level vs. cooler temps being the major factor.

I think with the river rising and dropping up to 15-20 ft. in a year a usual river fishing spot can be a misnomer sometimes. When it comes to fall fishing, when the temps go down the walleyes will start feeding. They will go to where the food is. Is this going to be in the same areas it was last year? Probably not. I do believe that the walleye will be feeding in traditional spots if by traditional spots you mean structure rather than specific fishing holes. Walleyes will adapt to their surroundings. They will find food. They will feed. All we have to do is find them. My two cents.
