I hope to be able to hit the river friday looking for walleyes. Is anything happening? With this rain you would think their is a little more flow. It seems pretty quiet on the boards. Any help would be much appreciated!

I’ll be heading out tommorow afternoon too. The river has gone up and the flow is quite a bit higher than it had been. I would think this would push the eyes back onto the wing dams. I plan on going out and casting cranks at as many as I can untill I find fish.

    Good Luck

Just a follow up. The Walleyes have moved back onto the wing dams. We only ended up catching about 8 legals, but never moved off the first dam we fished. I caught a 16″ on the very first cast with a crank. It was an even split between cranks, and jigs with half crawlers.

Both presentations worked in streaks. One would be hot while the other wasn’t getting touched. There were times where I was catching 4 Walleyes in 5 casts (the 5th followed the crank right to the surface before retreating). Jointed #5 Shad raps seemed to work best.

That is some good action off one wingdam. Thanks for the report on what worked.
