What a mixed bag, . Started out with light jigs and crawlers. Dragging and trolling the ends of wingdams was not very productive. Casting jigs with half a crawler to the fronts of wingdams that topped out at 6 to 8 feet deep with 10 to 12 feet infront produced a lot of short fish, providing I could get by the Bluegills. Casting cranks to fronts and ends of the dams was slow. Ran the gamut of no 5`s and 7`s Shadraps and Frenzies, not one hit. Switched up to no 7 Shadling in Red Craw was my best producer but all short fish. First time I have had success with Shadlings !!!!!!
If you want to catch bluegills it sure is the time to hit the wingdams with current and depth of 6 to 8 feet over the top. Drop a light jig and hang on.
