Picked up a “new to me” boat last night. It’s an ‘03 Ranger 618 with a 150 Merc Opti. New in 04 and loaded with options! Little speed demon too.

So if you see a shiny Red Ranger zipping by or sitting on a P2 wingy, swing over and say howdy. Hitting the river tonight and can’t wait to put her through the paces!

Nice ride, Jon! Are you going to take up musky fishing soon? And/or put a kicker on the back?

Yes, alone! I need to get a good idea how she handles before I take anyone out. I’ll try to keep the rail right side up – lol

Nice rig Jon! You looked pretty happy tonight.

Is there anything better than running into a friend out on the river and talking about boats?

Thanks guys! Good to see ya out there last night Rootski. We need to go figure out those bass in the stump field soon.

Terry, let’s go out and get the carpet slimed up with some musky juice!

The boat ran out great! I was hitting the upper 50’s gps. Should be able to crack 60 when it cools down a little. The Merc smart gauge is sweet! You can really dial in the best running speed by watching the fuel consumption per hour. Just sips gas at about 4000 rpms or 42mph. Tows well too! Pulled my 4th boat off pool 2 this year.

The white bass are going nuts on P2 right now. Plucked a few off each spot I stopped at. Both cranks and Meps spinners got bit.

I had a red boat once, named it the “Red Rocket”. My bird dog helped me name it. LOL
