Turk’s partner (Croix River Rat) alluded to the fact that they had good news in a previous post. I assume that means they won but Im not sure. If anyone has the results please post them here.

October 2, 2001 at 12:50 am #234021Nothing like seeing you boys coulda slept in, stayed home, camped out, all the above………………AND STILL WON! No room for discussion and all the braggin’ rights ’til next year! Hats off to you both, a bow of respect, and a big grin for the local boys!!! See ya out there soon (I hope)!
October 2, 2001 at 2:05 am #234022I was waiting for Turk to post since hes much better at it themn I am , but since you have the results what more can I say then thanks for the support and interest.I couldn’t think of a better way to cap off our rookie season as a team by winning the national championship on our home waters. We’ll have a tough time defending our title next year on a different body of water with the caliber of fishermen that fish this circut. EYE-GUIDE probably can contest to this since he fished against some or most of these men and woman. Thanks again guys for the support and hope to see you on the water soon once my wrists stop hurting form reeling in fish !! FISH ON!!!
October 2, 2001 at 2:07 am #234023Almost forgot to tell yah all that we snuck out big fish on day three with a 2.5LBer . I guess when your hot your lucky too!!
October 2, 2001 at 3:37 am #234025Great Tournament Guys! You guys did your homework and it paid off. Congrats!
October 2, 2001 at 6:26 pm #234034Congrats guys! You had some good sticks to go up against. Job well done!
TuckOctober 3, 2001 at 4:11 am #234043Sorry I’m late jumping in here with the congrats guys. I actually escaped computerland for most of the last two days.
I can vouch for some of the teams you fished against. Tim Ahrens and Mike Scarborough for one is a team I never look forward to fishing against anywhere on the Mississippi- I’m not afraid to admit they know my home pool at least as well as I do and probably much better., from a tournament fishing standpoint. Not to mention that they are two of the most enjoyable people I’ve ever met. But back to you guys- anyone can say what ever they want about home court advantage- but to put the ball in the hoop for that many more pounds than the rest of the field speaks volumes about you two guys fishing ability. LawrenceOctober 3, 2001 at 2:11 pm #234057All- I’ve been just wildly busy sorry not to post sooner, but as you all read above we won!!!! the bite was tough as the weights indicate, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
The local anglers found the 9/29 8th annual Beanie River Rat tournament hard as well, but Mr. Ed Philpot won that tourney for his second win River Rat win. 6 fish at 6.22 pounds. congrats to a great guide!
I enjoyed the tourney, granted we led, but the guys we met were all down to earth and fun people. The WWA tournament in terms of friendliness toward each other was good and really is a good example of how tournaments can be fun for all.
Keep catchin’
