With the cold weather that’s now on us, shallow pool three gets cold real quick, and the deep water croix to the North stays warmer longer, I believe a good number of the Miss eyes start migrating very soon and set up in spots on the Croix. To make a long story short Mr. Kalkofen should see some nice fish weighed up this coming weekend.

    Hey Turk,

Will you be able to fish that particular WWA with that lengthy “no practice” time period they have? Just curious of course. I’d be willing to put some money on ya’ given its your own back yard! Best of luck and congrats on a strong showing down here at the MWC!

Thanks Holsty, Croix River Rat and I feel good about our shot at the up and coming WWA, and working the MWC just prior is a great way to workout any kinks!

Ya I haven’t been on the Croix since early Septemeber, so tommorrow and wednesday will be needed very badly to fiqure out our plan of attack. the no fish period ran from the 8th until the 22nd, so after I wrap up the “office” work today I’m starting on pre fish mode.

In terms of the home waters scene, I have to laugh sometimes because I remember last year when your Team placed 2nd at MWC Lake Pepin, some cryers poo poo’d your and steve’s efforts as well It’s their home waters they are supposed to win it or place that high! ha!

Well if that’s the case with 20 lake city teams, 12, Rochester teams, 14 Winona Teams, guys from Reads landing, Red Wing, Elmwood, etc. that’s about 50 -70 local teams that are “supposed” to win the event, If that’s true I’ll be there next year for the 50 first place trophies and checks that they’ll be handing out! Ye ha!!!!!

    Keep catchin’

The talent level in the MWC, from top to bottom, is as good as it gets. You get the top touring teams and all the locals as well. Certainly knowing the water well helps but there’s a lot of great teams that didn’t get anywhere near the money in this last tourney. That’s the nature of tournament fishing.

Good luck in that WWA. I’ll be up on Mille Lacs so I’l just have to hear about it when I get back.

Anything more than 2-3 days prefishing, if you know the water, is just a waste of time in my book. Glad you were able to stay off the water so you could fish it.

Good luck up there guys . Fisherman called me Sunday and asked me to fish, but I had Already made other plans. Not to mention the fact that until then I thought you could run anywhere, not just the Croix. I’ll try and make it up for Saturdays weighins. Slam the Sheebas guys. Lawrence
