My houseboat used to be in Lynxville pond. If you have a wisconsin license, use live bluegills for bait hand sized. or any cut up fish for channels. Sonny’s super sticky also works good for channels here. If you launch at lynxville and head up stream the channel goes between several islands. The one on your left has a rock wall. The end of the rock wall there is a shelf that drops off into deeper water. Anchor off the end of the wall fish down and out but not too far either way. My 40 came from that spot right about 9pm. There is also a back slough channel that goes over toward Iowa. If you can find the 30ft deep hole back there, there is a monster that lives in that hole. Fish the weed edge that goes up the old channel by cold springs at night. Big cats swim that weedline. good luck and let me know how you do.

Nice fish. You can catch a pail full of bait in that pond in about 15 minutes fishing a tiny chunk of crawler near the docks. Lots of water out there. Think edges next to deeper water. Not much wood to speak of around there but the fish are there.

After the twins were born, I could no longer afford the commute or the slip rent. My old boat is missed very much, but I found the catfishing here in Madison is second to none I have experienced. It is still in Withey’s pond or whatever it is called now. Little blue one 27 footer. If I was still there I probably wouldn’t tell you where the 40s are around there so my loss is your gain. I can’t see all the scouting I did around there for 5 years go to waste. I still get over there once in a blue moon. There is better catting just north of Lansing, but there are some good ones on the lower end of 9. It gets a good deal of commercial fishing pressure. Another good spot for day flatheads is just before the dam right by the last channel marker pile of rocks. Drops to 35 feet and they rest there all day long.
